EdgeWater Research "Micro/Small Cap Conferences for Investment Professionals"

Overview

Periodically, EdgeWater hosts investment conferences wherein issuers are invited to give a 30-40 minute presentation to conference attendees. In many instances these conferences represent EdgeWater’s first exposure to the companies as well, making the conference a good initial introduction to EdgeWater’s research process. It is our general goal to conduct two of these conferences per year, but the actual number of conferences is subject to change.

Who Attends the Conferences?

We have a recognized presence amongst many micro cap professionals, including institutions, retail brokers from large and small firms and investor relations companies. We generally limit conference attendance to industry professionals as opposed to individual investors. We seek to draw between 50 and 100 of these attendees most of whom are subscribers to our research.

How Many Companies Present at the Conference?

We hold the conference over two presentation days during which time there will be between 12 and 16 presenting companies.

What is the Cost of the Conference to Issuers?

We charge issuers between $8,00 and $12,000 to present at the conference. We use the money collected from presenters to pay for the travel and loding expenses of the attendees. (As a matter of disclosure, our goal is to collect more from issuers than we spend accomodating attendees. In other words, there is a clear profit motive with respect to conducting this conference.) We think this format represents a compelling value because it puts the issuer in front of dozens of micro cap buyers, many of whom are influential in the decisions of other micro cap buyers. It also puts the issuer in front of a potential source of independent research in EdgeWater Research Partners LLC. In addition, from an economic standpoint, the costs required in terms of time and money traveling the country to get in front of these same professionals individually could outrun the cost of this conference. EdgeWater also prepares a company overview of each issuer listing pertinent points with a brief research commentary as well.

Where are the Conferences Held?

The conferences are held at  locations of my choosing that I think represent a good venue for attendees and presenters to both do some work and engage in some recreation at the same time. It is my intent to hold the conference at varying locations.  If you have a suggestion I would love to hear it.  I will post the locations of upcoming conference to the site as they are determined in the future.  If you would like a list of presnters from previous conferences, I can provide that as well.
